The new seasons of The Last of Us and various The Walking Dead spinoffs are set to hit screens soon, but there was a time not so long ago when dystopian landscapes brought sci-fi influenced angst into the real world.
While the entire planet would rather forget the COVID debacle, it happened to everyone, and drones where on the scene to capure the eerie stillness of a population avoiding physical contact—mostly emptying outdoor spaces, office buildings, stores, clubs, arenas, and more.
This scene has filmed at Boston University’s Charles River Campus on April 23, 2020 from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm by Above Summit Aerial + Video Production with a DJI Inspire 2 drone and X7 camera. The footage shows a desolate cityscape devoid of packed sidewalks and bike lanes, buses, trolleys, cars, and other evidence of "normal life."
