DJI has doubled down on this by releasing the DJI Mini 3 Pro this year, a huge update to their entry-level camera drone series. With a price tag right around $1,000, you get a compact UAV solution complete with obstacle avoidance, up to 4K/60fps video and 48MP photos, ActiveTrack 4.0, and the ability to shoot photos and videos in “portrait mode” which is accomplished by turning the camera 90-degrees to create a 9:16 aspect ratio instead of a 16:9 ratio. This caters well to the consumer-level drone user as it is perfect for creating visual content for social media platforms that thrive on mobile devices such as Instagram and TikTok. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is far-and-away the 2022 winner for the Best Consumer Drone award.
