12 May 2025
Described as yet another ceasefire violation by Pakistan, Indian air defenses tangled with a fleet of suspected Pakistani drones near the International Border in the Indian-administered Jammu’s Samba district.
“Comparatively, a very small number of drones have come in the Samba sector," explained an Army official, speaking after a ceasefire was agreed by both countries on Saturday, May 10. "They are being engaged and there is nothing to be alarmed about.”
The alleged Pakistani drones appeared less than an hour after a televised address by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he affirmed his country's resolve to deal with terrorists being given shelter in Pakistan.
"Pakistan must get rid of its terrorist infrastructure if it wants to be saved," said Modi. "I will also tell the global community that if we talk to Pakistan, it will be about terrorism only. It will be about Pakistan-occupied Kashmir."
Pakistan has denied Islamabad terrorist camps in the country launched an attacked that killed 26 Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir on April 22.
