Hello and welcome to The Droning Company. The company was formed back in 2021 by rock guitarist Stuart Smith who, after releasing the 5th album with his own band Heaven & Earth, had their world tour cancelled due to Covid and needed to do something to support his teenage daughter.

Says Smith, “I’d been flying drones for a couple of years just for fun and when Covid hit and there was no more touring, I decided to go out as a drone pilot as it was something that I enjoyed and there were still drone jobs during lockdown. After talking to a lot of friends who were drone pilots and checking out the job agencies for drone work, I was amazed at the amount of commission these agencies were taking from pilots. I found that drone pilots doing something as simple as a roofing inspection which should have paid them at least $250.00 were only being paid $75.00 to travel up to a hundred miles for a job.

To this end we formed The Droning Company whereby pilots pay us a $10.00 or $15.00 monthly subscription to create a profile on our page like this: Chris Fravel which is searchable by potential clients looking to hire drone pilots. Once they find the pilot they want, they click on ‘contact’ and get that pilots phone number and email address and book them directly. There is no middleman, and we don’t take any commissions. You make your own deal with the client, so it basically works out that the first job we get for you, pays for your entire yearly subscription.”

The Droning Company has two tiers of membership. The regular membership which is $10.00 per month that gets your profile out there in the market. There is a $20.00 discount if you sign up with us for a year.

The second is the enhanced ‘Premier Membership’ for $15.00 per month/$150.00 a year which as well as featuring your profile we have you submit your ‘Pilot’s Story’ like this: Fred Britt which we post on our main page as a ‘Featured Pilot’ and re-post in our social media, forums that we advertise on, in our weekly newsletter which goes out to over 20,000 subscribers and we include links to your profile which gets your name out there in the industry. We also send you free FAA ID stickers for your drones.
