The Skyrover S1 appears to be making "airwaves" in the entry-level affordable drone market, and not just because it currently costs less than $300. Pilots and hobbyists are talking because the S1 offers obstacle avoidance, 4k video, digital zoom, a three-axis mechanical gimbal that ensures smooth footage, ultra-light weight (approximately 0.5 lbs.), super portability, and 40 minutes of flight time on a single battery (or up to 120 minutes with the S1 three-battery bundle).
Influencers and reviewers have already published YouTube content on the S1, and the similarities to DJI drones that deliver high tech at reasonable cost are not accidental. The Chinese-based company was founded by Levy Liu and a crew of former DJI engineers in 2025.
“Most drones are built for professionals," states Liu on the company website. "Skyrover was built for real life.”
"Real life" applications in the Skyrover ecosystem are defined as making sure drone enthusiasts aren't intimated by technology, complexity, or expense. In fact, Skyrover designs are meant to be almost invisible. The company figures out the safety features, ease of navigation, and imaging, leaving the pilot to enjoy stress free, fun, and safe flight experiences.
For example, the S1 offers automated flight modes—front sensors that detect objects and reduce accidental crashes, subject tracking, waypoint navigation, and return-to-home mode—that make it unnecessary to possess advanced piloting skills. Even a creative beginner could capture stunning aerial shots. HD video transmission from the drone to a live feed can travel approximately 7.5 miles.
Skyrover also nurtures its customers—entry-level or more experienced pilots—when they aren't flying, offering U.S.-based customer support, warranty coverage, and a 30-day replacement policy.
