The 2026 Supporting Partners represent a diverse cross-section of the UAS ecosystem, spanning Publications, Portals, Analysts, Associations &amp; User Groups, Cooperating Events, and more. Together, they demonstrate the growing collaboration and momentum driving the commercial drone sector forward in Europe and beyond.

We&rsquo;ll kick things off with&nbsp;Welcome and Orientation, where participants meet the instructor team, review safety guidelines, and go over the course layout. From there, we dive straight into the fundamentals.

Drone Power Washing Fundamentals&nbsp;covers everything from drone setup to understanding the difference between soft wash and power wash systems. We&rsquo;ll walk through how to calibrate equipment, manage flow and pressure, and determine which cleaning technique is best suited for different surfaces &mdash; from glass facades to stone, siding, etc.

Next, we shift into&nbsp;Safety Practices and Risk Management. Safety is non-negotiable in our industry. We&rsquo;ll cover PPE, chemical handling, flight-zone management, and public-safety best practices. We also discuss real-world risk scenarios so participants understand how to prepare for and mitigate them before they happen.

We&rsquo;ll close out Day 1 with&nbsp;Business Applications and Strategy&nbsp;&mdash; a session that focuses on how to actually build a successful drone cleaning business. We&rsquo;ll talk about pricing strategies, structuring bids, client acquisition, and ROI. This session gives attendees the confidence to not only fly the drones but to position their services competitively and profitably.

Before the day wraps, we&rsquo;ll also cover&nbsp;Understanding Cleaning Solutions&nbsp;&mdash; a deep dive into detergents, surfactants, and chemical ratios for both soft and power washing. Knowing your chemistry is key to professional-level results and protecting building materials.

Day 2 is where everything comes together. This is when we get out in the field and give participants real flying time with our drone power-washing systems. Under instructor supervision, attendees will learn how to maneuver and operate drones in a live environment, adjusting spray patterns, managing flight paths, and handling a variety of cleaning scenarios.

There&rsquo;s no substitute for hands-on experience, and this portion of the training is what gives our operators the confidence to take on real commercial jobs right after graduation.

We&rsquo;ll also explore&nbsp;Advanced Operations, including troubleshooting techniques, scaling your operation, and increasing efficiency once you start booking multiple jobs.

The day concludes with our&nbsp;Wrap-Up &amp; Certification&nbsp;&mdash; an opportunity to review what we&rsquo;ve learned, ask final questions, and celebrate each participant&rsquo;s completion of the academy. Graduates receive a certificate recognizing their hands-on training and readiness to operate drone-powered cleaning systems safely and professionally.

Our most recent academy in Indianapolis was a huge success. Day 1 was hosted at Midwest Washing Systems, where we spent the day training on soft wash and power wash fundamentals. On Day 2, we wrapped up with live drone cleaning at the JW Marriott, giving our attendees a chance to put their new skills to the test on one of the most recognizable hotels in the city.

Drone Ops Academy Lands in Nashville November 8–9

Commercial drone professionals from around the world gathered last week for the 11th edition of <a style="color: #ba372a;" href="https://www.expouav.com/?utm_source=marketo&amp;utm_medium=pr&amp;utm_campaign=post-event-pr&amp;utm_content=attendee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Commercial UAV Expo</a>, held September 2&ndash;4, 2025, at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas. The event drew 3,393 verified professionals from all 50 U.S. states and 62 countries, out of 3,920 total registrants, and featured 230 exhibitors from 28 countries, reinforcing its position as the world&rsquo;s leading international trade show and conference focused on the integration and operation of commercial UAS.
&ldquo;This year&rsquo;s Commercial UAV Expo carried extraordinary weight, as it was the first major gathering of the drone industry since the FAA released its long-awaited Part 108 BVLOS NPRM,&rdquo; said Lee Corkhill, Group Event Director at Diversified, organizer of Commercial UAV Expo. &ldquo;Professionals knew they needed to be in Las Vegas to understand what the proposed rule means for their operations, ask questions, and engage in dialogue that will help shape the future of the drone industry. <h5>Program Highlights</h5>
The conference program delivered practical, actionable education from more than 140 speakers, with sessions focused on regulatory updates, BVLOS operations, autonomy, AI, and real-world case studies.
The opening keynote, led by Buzz Solutions CEO Kaitlyn Albertoli and Dominion Energy&rsquo;s Thomas F. Butler, underscored the importance of proving ROI and avoiding the pitfalls of inaction in drone adoption. A subsequent presentation highlighted HDR&rsquo;s groundbreaking project as the first to conduct drone-based surveying in the Grand Canyon.
Throughout the week, panels tackled the FAA&rsquo;s proposed Part 108 BVLOS regulations, with spirited discussion on opportunities and challenges for operators. Additional sessions explored AI and autonomy, the future of advanced air mobility, and case studies from industries including energy, telecom, construction, and public safety.
Keynotes on the final day emphasized collaboration across industry and government and concluded with the presentation of the Eric Talley Memorial Award to Officer Matt Rowland, honoring outstanding leadership in public safety UAS.

The exhibit hall showcased 230 companies unveiling cutting-edge drone solutions spanning hardware, software, sensors, and services.

Organizers of <a href="https://www.expouav.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Commercial UAV Expo</a> have announced a final call for submissions for the second annual UAV Empower: Path to Leadership Event Scholarship, a program designed to support university students passionate about using uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) to drive positive social and environmental change. Launched with a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive commercial drone industry, the scholarship provides students the opportunity to attend Commercial UAV Expo, the leading event for commercial drone professionals. <a href="https://www.expouav.com/uav-empower-leadership-scholarship/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Applications are due June 6, 2025</a>.
Three students will be selected to receive a full event scholarship, including a conference pass granting access to all sessions, keynotes, networking events, and Indoor Airspace demonstrations. Recipients will also receive complimentary hotel accommodations, a travel stipend to assist with airfare, and personalized mentorship during the event to help them navigate the industry and build lasting professional relationships.
"We have already seen firsthand how much of a difference this scholarship can make for students who are just beginning to explore their place in the commercial drone industry,&rdquo; said Jason Lavigne, Marketing Manager for Commercial UAV Expo. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s more than just an opportunity to attend the event, it&rsquo;s an opportunity to build networks and give students a sense of belonging."

"This program reflects our commitment to providing access and opportunity to the next generation of drone leaders focused on using this technology to better their communities and beyond. By connecting students with mentors and giving them a platform to learn and grow, we hope to inspire future changemakers early in their careers."
A committee of industry experts will oversee the selection process and help guide the program's continued development. This year's committee includes Kat James, Founder of Four Hundred Feet; Eno Umoh, Co-founder of the Global Air Drone Academy; and Rebecca Lehman, Senior ESG &amp; Social Impact Manager at DroneDeploy.
&ldquo;In our second year, the demand for skilled drone talent is stronger than ever. This scholarship helps students see a future in the industry&mdash;where their passion and skills are both needed and can make a real impact,&rdquo; said Lehman.

Operators seeking BVLOS approvals are required to describe their system&rsquo;s conformity with &ldquo;pertinent sections of industry standards related to collision avoidance systems, ground-based surveillance systems, and detect and avoid systems.&rdquo;</div>
